School Daze

Everyone is off to school. It seems like it came out of nowhere. (More likely, I just did not want summer to end.) In any case, everyone is happily back in the school swing. We have three schools and three school districts working in our family. We may need an algorithm to organize the breaks.

4 Students

The boys were up early on day one, smiles on their faces, eager to get to school. Ruhiyyih and I were just eager to see if the drop off schedule/system would work. I am surprised that Ruhiyyih did not draw a color-coded map with time stamps. She is cute that way. Maybe she did and decided to not show me so I would not poke fun. (I got you figured out, babe!)

Soren is in third grade, the last classroom on the first floor, before turning the corner, and heading upstairs to the "big kid" floor. His teacher is Anna.

Asha is in fourth grade, at Chief Joseph, a neighborhood school. His teacher is Ms. Walker.

Asa is in first grade. His teacher is John.

Kael is in sixth grade. Yikes! His teacher is Ned. Kael is on the "big kid" floor.

EHS & HBHS

Ruhiyyih and I are in competing districts and schools. We both rock the yellow, but I have the yellow/green whereas Ruhiyyih has the yellow/black.

I am teaching at Evergreen High School in the Evergreen School District (east Vancouver, WA). I am teaching English to freshmen and juniors.

Ruhiyyih is at Hudson's Bay High School in the Vancouver School District (west Vancouver, WA). Ruhiyyih is teaching freshman, ELL, and an academic literacy (reading support) class. She is at a great school with fantastic staff members. I am pleased. Jealous that her commute is 20 minutes fewer than mine.
